Mistabel meets Larousse
Yesterday, my Boy-toy put his paperback edition of Larousse's French dictionary on the divan next to me.
I thought he wanted me to play with it. So I chewed it royally while he tapped away at his computer. When he noticed what I was doing, he bellowed, 'Bad girl!" Then he grabbed the book away from me.
'Bad girl'? That's accusing me of an immoral act. But as a doggie, I have only one way to act. And that's 'doggie-wise'. I am incapable of committing sin. As are all animals except humans.
My almost favourite guy, Teilhard de Chardin, once taught that a doggie such as I worships God by being a dog. Just as a stone finds its place in Creation by being a stone. So how can Nich tell me I am 'bad'? If anything, my action gives new meaning to the word 'dog-eared'.
MEN!

Dear Mistabel,
They do give us mixed signals from time to time, don't they?
I've found that the safest paper to chew is the paper the people roll into little balls and then put inside small containers on the floor, usually in the bathrooms or bedrooms.
They still fuss, but not nearly as much as when I chew other paper things.
You friend,
Harley
Hey, what a neat idea, Harley! Nich has little containers like that all over the house. I think I'll give it a try.
Also there is this little round thing on the wall next to where the well is...it's long, white and made of paper, and when I grab it I can run all through the house with it.
Then tear it into little pieces. I call it 'creating a paper trail'.
Oh yes ... the little round thing on the wall. Sometimes I can get that all the way from the bathroom through the living room.
But that drives the people crazy. (heh heh heh).
Well, I'm with de Chardin. Now if our guardians could only understand that their place is to be fully human.
Love,
Rowan
Hi Rowan
'You light up my life" every time you stop by my yard.
And so does Harley and Scout, too. But you were my 'first'. Let Lindy stew over that remark, bark bark!!!
Hey Misty... I told Lindy what Nich said about her being the first. She said that being the first is not as important as being the best. Don't know what that means.
Love,
Rowan
Hi Mistabel
What a great chewing technique !!!
I love chewing bones into teeny little bits and spreading it all over the carpet wheer the human step on it!!
Frasier
Hi Fraser
You're the first Jack Russell or JR 'mix' I have ever met! You are a real sweetie, too!
Hi, Mistabel
Frasier told us about your blog and I wanted to come and say hello!
Welcome to the bloging world!
Have a good night
Lorenza
Hello Mistabel,
I saw my pal Frasier's blog and thought I'd come over and say hi.
Welcome!
I think hoses and water are great fun too. especially in this hot weather..
I think I like tissue papers more that the book.. probably the flavor...
Wuffs!
Toffee
Hi Mistabel,

Hi Toffee
Thanks for saying hi. I have got the word from Frasier to register with dogswithblogs...what think?
You have a great day, luv, and bark bark to your guardian, too!
Love, Misty
Thanks, Frasypoo...I will check the link out. Have a great day, babe.
Hi what a naughty I mean cute terror you are. I don't chew books.
I didn't think they tasted nice. Best to go for the real stuff in the kitchen. IMHO.
Pippa
Hi Pippa and Katherine
Pippi, I visited you after I read your message. Stay with Katherine.
When I want to send a message to Nich I go under the love seat and stick my face out and stare him down. Eventually he smartens up and we are back to normal before too long. I can't really be mean to him for too long.
Yes, he is a man, and can't be held responsible all the time. That's why he has me to keep him in line. Woof! woof!
If he didn't want you chewing on it, then he shouldn't have left it out ~ how rude.

Hey,Misty...I am on Dogs With Blogs. Lindy signed me up a few weeks ago and I've met lots of nice dogs that way. There are dogs from all over the world on it. Of course, you'll still be the prettiest.
Love,
Rowan
I see you like to read, too.
--Scout
p.s. thanks for your prayers.
Hi Misty,
We were just reading your blog and saw a bunch of comments from our friends too. We just got our own blog too & are very excited about it. We are all adopted dachsies from DROH, so we don't remember a lot about our lives before Mommy adopted us. Come visit us sometimes: justustexasdachsies.blogspot.com
I've eaten parts of books before and it nevers makes the humans very happy.....but we have to show them every once in a while who is in charge!
Woo woo, Kelsey Ann
We used to have a little slot in wall by the front door. Every day a man in a uniform would come to the house and push paper things through it and make a mess on the floor.
One day my brother Max, a black miniature schnauzer, decided to eat one of the papers. When our people got home they found the one he chewed and laughed and laughed for the rest of the day. They kept saying it was something called a notice of tax audit from the IRS
After that they filled in the slot and put a box outside by the door, and now the man in the uniform puts papers in there every day.
Oh Harley-kins!
I love that bit about the tax thing. It's like fleas, I hear.
Nich laughed when I told him about your chewing on government forms. He thinks it's because they use cheap ink to print their stuff, and cheap is like jungle gardenia perfume, whatever that is.
Bark bark and love to you from me.
Misty
Scout agrees with you, Mistabel. You worship God just by being you. How was the book? hope it was yummy.
Met you on Mad Priest and thought I'd pay a visit. Nice blog.
D.P.
The stuff in the round containers is great! sometimes there is food, too, or plastic bags. But my absolute favorite is the LitterBox treats.
Hey Misty, are you still in the dog house over this? Woof at Nich and get him to make a new post for you.
Love,
Rowan
PS-I can't believe Grendel eats litter box treats. It's so junk-yard doggie...
Oh Misty, I just read your post over on MadPriest's site. I am so sorry to hear about Nich. I assume that he helped you with the post and thus is out of the hospital, on the mend? But, please email me at my personal email: lmcmillan9 at austin dot rr dot com and give me a full report. Diabetic comas can be real serious for humans. I want you to take real good care of old Nich, nice snuggles and the occasional kiss. I will hold you both in my prayers for healing and love. Your human friend, and Nich's too, Lindy
Oh, Mistabel,
Mom (Aghaveagh) and I are Praying Real Hard for Nichelodeon to Get Better. When you find someone with Posables to type, can you let Mad Priest know how Nich is?? He will let us all know.
I know you will Take Good Care of him. He probably needs you to lick his face, esp, when he is Asleep.
Love, from me, Grendel.
Dear Lady Mistabel,
I tagged you on my great blog. Go check it out!

Hi Misty! Just stopping in to say WOOF!
Love,
Rowan
If he didn't want you to play with it, then he shouldn't have put it next to you!!!!!
HMPH! Mommy does the same thing with the garbage, if she doesn't want me in it, why is it where I can reach it????
Sorry about missing DWB, mommy will help me do a new post this afternoon.
